ABS & ETS warning-E320 1997

Hi guys,

Yesterday in heavy traffic the computer advise me a problem of ABS and after a problem of ETS.

Once I clear the messages, the yellow signals (bottom left of the cluster) stays on. This morning I started the car, runned but about less than a mile, it started again as above. I tried at lunch time, it did the same too.

I know that my ABS & ETS are not active when these warning lights are on.

But before going to my mechanic, can you please tell me what problem I have? Can I fix it myself "easely"? Is it expensive to repear? Etc.

Thanks in advance,

Uncle Benz

try resetting it by turning the steering wheel all the way to the right and then all the way to the left. do this a couple of times.
this worked for me when i got that warning message.

If it continues, replace the brake lamp switch. Get the part from the dealer, online or off; aftermarket brake lamp switches are junk and the dealer price isn't bad. This is a common problem.

Be sure to pull the plunger on the new switch all the way out before you install it.
