THAT is a sweet deal. Same PN is $14.84/qt. at Autohausaz.com so you got it for less than half-price.
Wonder what truck the seller stole it off of?
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

How do you fill the fluid, thru the dip stick tube? and to what mark?
On my dip stick there are two marks, 30 and 80? should the fluid level between them?
I could not find any info on that in my manual.
Thanks!
There is a little more to it than that. The 96 and on tranny's according to MB were suppose to be life time tranny fluid, which now, according to info from MB is not reccomended.
I'm surprised that you have a dip stick and with nummbers to boot. Most tranny dip stick tubes have a plastic lock cap on them as they were life time fluid and did not need a dip stick to measure the tranny fluid.
Once you drain the fluid and remove the lock cap, you do put the new tranny fluid into this tube to refill, but there is a special dip stick you buy from e-bay or the dealer to measure the tranny fluid amount.
As in the pix below you can see the dip stick partly drawn out of the tube (1)
more drawn out (2) ,
in full length (3)
and the marks >30 <|> 80< at the end (4)
Most MB's of this vintage have a lock cap on the tranny dip stick unless the 96 320 is different. How long have you owned the car ?. Your tranny fluid may have already been changed out once before if you are not the original owner and a new type dip stick installed.
I have owned the car since 3 weeks . Still learning everything about it.
So, anyone has same issue like me? How do you test the tranny fluid level?
Is there a test via instrument cluster?
I think about the '98 edition was first of the lifetime fill transmissions. Prior to that regular Dexron was the ATF recommended I think and 30K servicing too. Check your owner's manual to be sure.
