So many peeps go bigger wheels and dropped springs and pads and then have questions about alignment or excessive tire wear.Camber bolts can take care of some of the excessive adjustment on the front and those expensive kits by speedy benz will do the rear, but when contemplating a big drop to get an idea of how far things can get out of wack, illustration below, then figure in the cost of having the proper tire angles and the long safe tire life you desire. Excessive negative camber wears the inside of the tire and similar to positive camber, it can cause wear and stress on suspension parts.Nuther words it is more then Rim it,drop it, and drive it. ohlord
and 18 with a moderate drop and stiffer shocks with the proper job done on alignment can probably be brought into spec, the front can be adjusted for 17's and the rears may get by.!8's and a drop big enough to make them look correct are going to take the 4 camber bolts and most likely the rear kit to get close to the magic number. That is up to the car and how good the guy is on the machine.Until recently I wondered why when people did a survey of tire life that lots of members on the two main forums complained of 2 sets of tires a year or 10k miles on a set.Looking at the angles and forces imparted on the tires I think I know no longer have to wonder
Mark Cummins with his great wagon did the speedybenz kit and has mentioned that proper tire wear is no problem.Ya gotta spend the bucks to stay in the game
20's with a drop I can't even begin to think what time, money and design could save that ride and tires.Nevermind the LKs ohlord
