1. That cold air intake is actually a hot air intake, unlike the stock system that draws air from the grille (i.e. cool air). It also looks like cheap trash. You will not gain any power from this, and you may very well run into problems by putting a bend right before the maf, which can absolutely trash resolution.
2. Thats a cheap shitty "universal" muffler. If you wanted to install these kind of parts, a used honda civic may have been a better idea. Don't rice out your wagon.
I agreed with you on it. I still try to find the replacement for it. Do you know any place designed performance cold air intake and catback for the 2000 E320 Wagon?
I like it in my Sequoia. The performance cold air intake and exhaust in my Seqoia feels and sounds a lot better than stock. I wants to have the same feeling in my Wagon without destroy it. Thanks.
Below is what I have in the Seqoia:

Why people want to remove well-engineered, expensive parts from their car and replace them with trash is beyond me, but it's your car. Just keep the old parts for the next guy.
I agreed. It is engineered for quality, comfort and quiet. Some of us want it our way and asymmetric from others. We want to add the aftermarket performance. We want the look of stock, but modestly louder and extra power in it. For sure we can get any performance from M-benz, but some of us cannot afford it.
Everyone is different, and it is matter of personal preferences.

If he is running the car with inadequate filter, selling the car with OEM filter to a buyer would be a cheating?
H&R filters (and looks like the above is a clone) generated lot of discussion on the net.
It is very likely true that they will provide few extra HP, but at a cost.
If you really value the few extra ponies more, than engine reliability, why not remove the air filter totally?
Cheap gain.
Coming to the exhaust, it is quite common, that US build engines have badly design pipes and people investing in BANKS, or other better systems gain a lot.
Don't think this is an issue on Mercedes.
Read any aftermarket manufacturer's HP gain promises with a huge grain of salt. Even for "real" performance parts, this applies.
For example, a full exhaust system (head back) for an American V8 may give you 50HP, and so may the new Holley carburetor. But you won't get 100 total. You'll get fifty from the exhaust if you have the carb. You'll get 50 from the carb if you have the exhaust. Alone, you'll be lucky to get fifteen from either. And this is assuming very expensive head work and a new camshaft.
People who think they get real, bolt-on horsepower are deceiving themselves.
is bolt on,so is a turbo,or SC
the only deception is to your wallet
That hot air intake is a joke, measure underhood temps with a remote probe compare that to the fresh air temp at the inlet of the stock system in front of the radiator, every 10 f increase is equal to about a 2h.p. loss.
peeps that buy those underhood air boxes are likely candidates for sprint boosters and remus mufflers
ohlord
To me, it is all personal preferences. I can use wheel as for example too. The OEM wheel look and work fine, but a lot of people replaces it with aftermarket wheels for its look and performance. Most of the time the ride is not better than stock wheel. It suits their personal preferences.
I can go on and on with personal preferences. I can use the house for example too. The white porcelain sink and stove that come with the house work and look great, but a lot of owners replaces it with the stainless steel sink and stove for less reliable and a lot more expensive. The original house AC filter work fine, but we all replaces it with home depot filters.
If you like it all stock, please keep it as stock and enjoy it. Personal preference is priceless..!
