hi everyone this is my first time posting i love this site and its been very useful. i was driving on the freeway when my car just started shaking really bad and had lack of power then check engine light came on so i pulled over turned the car off and turned it back on and it was running fine next day took it in to get it checked on the obd11 and it read it was misfiring but the mechanic said he will reset it because water might have touch the spark plugs becuase i was driving in the rain or something so about a week later i was driving to seattle from vancouver going about 130 km/h when the engine started shaking again about half way there and then again the check engine light came on so i did the same thing pulled over turned it off and back on it was driving fine again drove down to seattle and came back to vancouver and the car was driving fine i just got the spark plugs changed about 2 days ago so i will go back and reset the check engine light and see if this happens again does anyone know if the spark plugs was the problem to this or is it something else i would really love any advice to why this happened and i really apreaciate it thank you
How many miles/km on this beast? At the least, I would replace the spark plug wires/cables if that hasn't been done recently. Your area of the country is rather damp so that would fit with the original diagnosis. You may be lucky.... new plugs and wires could be all that's needed! Hope this helps.

the cars got about 134 000 km which is pretty good and they checked the spark plug wires and they were all looking good i live in vancouver bc and this time of the year it does rain but when it happened the second time it wasnt raining at all
I guess the next thing to do would be to check codes. I am not too familier with the in line 6 that you have. (Mine is the V6) But, if I read your posts correctly, you have not had a problem since the plugs were changed. That may have solved your problem. As far as the plug wires go, how were they checked? They can look good visually, but still be bad. They have to be checked with a meter to measure resistance, etc. Your mechanic/tech should know all of this anyway. If he hasn't checked codes and made the proper tests on wires, etc. you may need to go elsewhere.
i have no idea what he did hes actually a friend of mine and he just basically changed the plugs and said the wires look good but i will be reseting the check engine light and and see what happens and he said the codes read misfire so i just got all the plugs changed with bosch super plugs and also whats the coil pack thanks alot
