I just want to say thanks for the help to this forum for assisting me in solving a problem with my climate control in my 2000 E320. I found by searching the 210 forum that the root cause of my climate control issue was a disconnected exterior temperature sensor located in the front fascia.
My dash temp readout was not displaying and I did not realize that the function of the climate control is affected by this external temp sensor. The problems corrected were a stuck EC switch, which I had temporarily corrected a while ago but the switch got engaged again by mistake. When the EC switch was stuck in the on position this caused the blower fan to run in an erratic manner and also prevented auto operation of the climate control. The error code displayed was Eb 1227. When the temp sensor was re-connected all functions now work as designed on the climate control and I do not at this point have to be careful about engaging the EC switch by mis-take as in the past.
As 210 owners we are lucky to have this very useful resource of information.
