I changed the purge valve and I now want to know whether it works nonstop the entire time or does it work in intervals? I mean from the moment that the car is started until it is turned off.
The dealer said that I need to replace the purge valve on my E-320, 2005. I have located the valve, but I'm not sure how to disconnect it from the tubes or the power. One tube has a clamp and the other is very tight, but w/o a clamp. Do I need a special clamp tool? The power connection has a wire clamp that I haven't figured out how to remove. What is required to disconnect the power? Thanks, and reply to rshargis@tds.net
Just clean the purge valve today as per ohlord's instruction. I think the job is too well done, now I cannot hear/feel any tapping on the valve. There were lots of carbon deposits on the exit side (front tube) of the valve, I wonder how black is my intake manifold.
