Smile My merc has been scratched!!

Hi all,

I'm back. Someone scratched my E320 from rear panel up to front passenger door. Panel beater said the entire left side will have to be resprayed. I asked if Mercedes paints will be used (if there is such a thing). He informed me that PPG (?) paints supply Mercedes. Is this correct?

Not practical to use MB panel shop. My local Panel guys are brilliant. One often sees other mercs there.

Cheers

PPG paints suck. Do NOT go to a shop that uses them. Years ago, maybe. Today, no.

Sherman Williams has the best flowing compounds out there today.

Thanks for the concern guys. One side of the car has been resprayed and I also saw it as an opportunity to have the front bumper sprayed as well. It had a few chips etc.

Just a tad paranoid about leaving the car parked unattended. May have to leave my trusty Dobermann to patrol the car.

Cheers.

I believe MB uses BASF Glasurit paints, but I could be wrong.

My father worked for BASF, so I can find out.
