I bought my E420 with 116,000 mls last week, I'm certainly impressed with the car so far. My routine with a used car is to change all the fluids right away and I'm waiting for my manual to arrive from ebay. In the meantime if someone can tell me where the drain cock is at the bottom of the rad and if it's possible to access without removing the plastic covers at the bottom of the car. Also, I've found the drain plug on the differential but not the filler plug? Finally, where's the fuel filter on this car? does anyone know the part number? I've never done so before but I'm going to do oil changes topside.
Hi, Chato, and welcome to the forum. Please take a moment to complete your online profile re: vehicle and location.
Most of the stuff you're asking about is in one or more of the stickies at the top of this 210 forum, DIY or the FAQ thread. The only one that might not be there is the radiator draincock, once you pull the belly pan you'll see it easily enough. The belly pan is only 8 or 10 little screws to pull, but it's a good idea to yank it every once in a while anyway. It accumulates quite a bit of road debris (careful not to get it in your face when you pull it down) and you can dump it out, plus you can then do a proper visual inspection underneath. The only trick is to have a small 1/4" rachet to reach the bolt heads that are in the front of the wheelwell securing it. These are like little lag screws with hex heads, I think the head is either 7 or 8 mm.
When changing fluids be sure to use the correct ones, pretty much everything in a Benz is different.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Welcome Chato, I've got the same ride as you. PM me if you have specific questions I can help you with. Just in case you aren't familiar with this engine don't panic if you get the oil guide tap (sounds like a valve tap). There are several good write ups on correcting this.
