What about Lucas gas additive (upper cylinder lubricant)
In a previous thread, I inquired about the product Lucas Oil Additive. It is like a motor honey. The opinion was strong against adding anything to the Synthetic 0w-40 oil... but only as a last resort, with extreme engine wear, oil consumption, ect. Point well taken!
Now I'm asking for opinions on gas treatments. I specifically have in mind Lucas brand Upper Cylinder Lubricant. It has injector cleaners and fuel conditioners. It comes in a 32oz. bottle for $9.00 at most automotive stores (in my Michigan location).
One just adds approx 3oz. per every ten gallons gas. One bottle treats about 100 gallons of gas.
Some people (in my neighborhood who use it on their own cars) claim that it improves performance (on their high milage vehicles) as it lubricates the upper compression rings. Also claim to increase gas milage.
So, has anyone used this product.... and what are the results. Also are there any other type of fuel treatments recommended.
My 1998 e-320 now has over 100,000 miles and is running fine. I would like to keep it that way.
