Question about shocks

Hello,

I am wondering if rear shocks from a "regular" RWD E320 will fit a 4MATIC E320. I usually order parts from Autohausaz, and at 86K I am thinking to replace all four shock absorbers. I have called twice so far and rear shocks for a 4matic "do not show up on their computer systems" and the attendant has "no clue" if regulars for a 320 will fit or no. Surprisingly they have OEM fronts at almost 1/2 price of what my local dealer is asking for. Any advise is appreciated.

Thank you,

So you are surprised, that on $100 part, the dealer makes $70 profit???
Can't help you too much with shocks, but 4-Matic has bigger clearance, so chances that it uses the same shocks are slim.

if you check, eg Bilstein web site, p/n for 4matic shocks are different than those for RWD.....for what it's worth

Bought them already at mercedesshop.com @ $113 each. Not the best price but I have the peace of mind of using OEM.

See

you found them, were they the same part number?

Lucky you don't have the auto leveling shocks,200 plus each!

In the future,if in doubt give Ron a call at germanstar.net he can get the correct part number for you,and be very competitive in pricing.
