My problem is that the I will try to start my car, and the starter turns, BUT the engine wont start. However, if I let it wait a few minutes, sometimes the engine will start!!??
I just called Mercedes Roadside Assistance for a battery replacement, but the gentlemen on the phone did say that this is not likely the battery. Most likely this is the crank sensor position sensor or fuel pump/ pump switch.
Anyone else have this problem?
Car is a 1999 E320 with 155,000 miles so I do expect to be replacing parts around now!
If you search you'll find several threads with your issue and the solution 99% of the time is to replace the crank position sensor. It's available online at lots of places in the $80 range.
If you look in the diy sticky you'll even find a pictorial on how to do it yourself.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
