Exclamation ESP-ABS-BAS Malfunction help please

Hi

I drive a E200 CDI from 2000. When driving my car (after 2 km) I get the ESP-ABS-BAS malfuntion in my clusterboard. This started about a week ago when I brought my car to a tire center for adjusting my steering wheel direction.
After this visit I always get these errors.

Somebody ... ?

Thanks...

Hi, Mo, and welcome to the forum.

There are a few things it might be, but personally I think I'd revisit the tire center. Since it didn't do it before, then started after you left, they obviously triggered something. If you start trying to figure it out you may make it worse, or they may then say "hey, it's your responsibility since you messed with it." If you just take it back then you can instead say "hey, it's your responsibility since you messed it up."

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Try the brake switch, very common fault, and cheap and easily fixed. It could be that the two incidences are seperate and are not to blame.?

I've tried everything but the problem is not the brake switch. I did a test with pressing the brake pedal and releasing it after 2 min but the ESP-ABS-BAS malfunction doesn't appear. I think it is a problem with the steering sensors. Does somebody has experience with these sensors?

Thanks a lot for the help guys

Pagan has just given you the correct answer, however you may need to turn the wheel from lock to lock at least three times and then the PML will reset

When was the last time you change your car battery? If the battery voltage was dropping down under 10 volts at times which is the threshold for the ESP/BAS system according to the Owners Manual.

Pls. complte your PROFILE - Vehicle & Location.

Btw, Welcome to the Board,

I did the reset you like you said, but the messages still appear. These errors only appear when I drive more than 2 miles. I think it might be the steering sensor. Could you go in more detail about the sensors?

Thanks

It's about a month now. But I don't have any problems with my brakes or something else ... So there is no harm done. Those lights are just bad for the looks of my clusterboard
