During warranty period, windshield washer fluid reservoir leaked and was replaced under warranty. At 45k miles, it's leaking again. I searched the forum and did not see any posting of the same problem yet. I wonder whether it's a problem specific to my vehical.
Hey, Cerritos. I don't think so. At our meet Kajtek1 was talking about it leaking on a different model, and the ECU was under it, with rather ugly consequences. I got the idea it was rather widespread for that model.
Mine on my 210 has a very small leak as well, I'm hoping it's the seal for the connections, cheap and easy to fix. Yet another niggling problem, though, that you really shouldn't see on a car that cost more than $50 thou new.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

On the mentioned by Greg model, what is ML, the leaky part is rubber grommet that seals the pump. That miniature piece of rubber cost me $5 at stealership. I compared the 6-years old grommet with the 25 years old I had from old W123.
The 25-years old is in perfect condition, while the 6-years old is turning into dust.
I think the new grommets are manufactured by famous harmonic balancers manufacturer.
I had the same issue, and it was the grommet that sits to the left of the windshield water pump at the bottom of the tank.

Thanks, nahegedus. That was my suspicion, between you and Kajtek1 you've saved me pulling it out twice. As cheap as that part is I'll just pick one up and replace it. It's more annoying than anything else at this point.
I checked my car and found the place that leaks. On the left side of the reservoir (standing in front of the car looking at the reservoir), there is a circular white plastic piece that leaks from the center of this plastic piece. It's located close to the P/S reservoir. Please see the attached picture. Is this the piece that we're talking about? or do we have different problem? Does anyone know how to replace this piece? pry it out?
Is this part connected to the tubes inside the reservoir?
The picture was taken by a Motorola Q cell phone (because all of my Japanese, i.e., sony, Minalta, Canon... cameras broke.)
I had to drain the reservoir, used silicon sealent on the exterior (no good access to the inside) and left it to dry overnight, no more leaks from whatever that plastic plug is intended to be, I still don't know why it's there.
