E320 AC was blowing hot, now quit blowing

Hi everybody,

I have E320, I used to have the AC blowing hot, my wife took it for repair and now AC quits blowing.

the fan turn on but no AC at all. I believe even the hot is gone.

I'm not expert, I just want to know better about the car before trying somebody else to fix it.

whoever can help, please excuse my ignorance in cars and try to give more details. I was reading couple topics here and I couldn't understand too many terms used. sounds I have to learn alots to be able to just hang with you here.

and thank you for any help

David

Hi, David, and welcome to the forum.

When you have a minute please click the control panel link at the top right of the page and complete your user profile (car/locale) which is helpful.

My first thought would be to return the car to the place that did the (obviously incorrect) repair. If the understanding was that they would fix it, they clearly didn't. (Not blowing hot air is an improvement, but...)

Given your unfamiliarity with automotive AC, a W210 is not the car to learn on. It's far more complex than the typical AC system on most cars, so there are even more possibilities.

If you want just a bit of information, go to the sticky at the top of this W210 forum for DIY and FAQ, then look at the list for the AC diagnosis, that will link you out to the Eclass site for a diagnostic procedure/chart you can run. That will give you some feedback and some useful information. Read through it all until you're comfortable with it before you run the procedure, if you wait too long during it the system resets and you have to start over. Once you have that information you can come back or -- depending on what the info is -- you may have it figured out. One thing to think of is whether the EC light is going off when you press that button and the AC is otherwise "on". If the EC light stays on then that narrows the field.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Welcome to the forum David!

Don't concern yourself with knowing a lot about your car before hanging with us here. Please remember that all of us were new once, and believe me, I knew about as much as you might right now (probably less) when I first joined.

These MBs are pretty complicated, so just hang in there and you'll be fine.

Or someone with a diagnostic manual.

B1234 - sun sensor (B32)
B1459 - Series interface (K2) connection to instrument cluster (A1)

Ignore B1234. I don't know why B1459 would keep you from getting cold air other than shutting down the compressor. Is the clutch engaging?

I'm not sure that I understand. You get no blower?

If this is the case, I would suspect that your regulator quit and is completely unrelated to any other problems. Put the blower on max and post the current sensor values again, but this time don't stop at #8.

Hello Matt L,

I'm sorry for being unable to answer you early, I was out of town.

this is all what I had about sensors, doing what you asked me to do:

01----------37
02----------45
03----------31
04----------31
05----------20
06----------76
07----------13
08----------50
09----------04
10----------6.0
11----------3.3
12----------4.1
20----------0.0
21----------0.7
22----------0.0
23----------0.0
24----------13.3
40----------71
41----------36
42----------72
43----------136

and the same erreurs like above.

Eb1234
Eb1459
E---FF

by the way, some of the sensors change the numbers with time. after I finished the test, I kept pushing auto to see them one more time. I found sensors 3 to 8 changed to:

03----------40
04----------39
05----------27
06----------86
07----------12
08----------47.

waiting for any help I can get and thank you

David

If you have no airflow, it's time to check the blower regulator.
