I'm is it available automatically to close the window when i lock the car?

hold the lock button for a few seconds after the locks close and it will close the windows and the sun roof,hold the open button the same amount time and it will open the windows and sun roof before you get in on a hot day.

On mine (98 e320) you have to aim the smart key at the sensor on the door handle to do this.

You have to be fairly close (several feet) and pretty aim the remote in-line with the IR sensor in one of the front passenger door handles, hold the lock button down on the remote (not just press/release) and it will lock the car, then close the sunroof and windows.

97 model desn't have smart key.
It started in 98 with the option.

Make sure your smart key battery is good. I replaced mine w/ a new one after noticing diminished performance and it worked like a charm.

Still won’t work from long distances but overall performance definitely improved.

I use to be able to do it and now even with a new battery it wont work for me.......

I tried this feature on my '97 E420 and it works on both the driver's door and trunk IR receivers. One thing I did notice, is that you must keep the button on the key depressed until the windows are completely closed; if you stop midway, you will have to unlock the car and start over...
