All I want is a little "step on the gas and it goes". It's literally dangerous when I must get out of someone's way on the highway but the car refuses to GO when I step on it. It just stays there, lounging in its low RPMs in its high gear.

I'm really tempted to try this.....
there is whats called Kick down mode you have to press the gas all the way till you feel a click under your foot and it will down shift for sure

skipinschool,

If I recall correctly, the trany is finished with it's "learning curve" after 40 shifts.

the part when stepping on the gas paddle all the way down, does it last 5 seconds or 15 seconds? when i reset mine every few months or so i usually step on the gas paddle for 15 seconds because that's what i was told by an mb mechanic. am i doing it wrong? should it last only 5 seconds?

Hey, Tirona. I'm not sure what the exact time is, if you were told 15 and it works just continue to do that, it surely won't hurt anything even if might be a little too long. (I wouldn't be surprised if the mechanic padded the time a little since people seem to be a little quick to jump...).

Take care and enjoy reshifting the ride,
Greg
