I have been waiting for this feature since the day I got my car. The dealer told me "Oh yeah, it is constantly relearning. You want to shift like a race car? Drive that way and it'll learn." Nope, hasn't learned yet.
All I want is a little "step on the gas and it goes". It's literally dangerous when I must get out of someone's way on the highway but the car refuses to GO when I step on it. It just stays there, lounging in its low RPMs in its high gear.
I'm really tempted to try this.....

Hey, FF, I wonder if there's something else going on with your car. I'll admit that 95% of the time I drive like a little old man, but when I hit the gas on the freeway, it downshits and goes.
The dealer is right, it's adaptive and constantly relearning. Won't hurt a thing for you to reset it and let it relearn from baseline. I would suggest you get it warm first so that it's not learning/shifting when the engine is cold, which is a different curve altogether.
Last thought: how many miles on your 210 and when did you last change the fluid and filter?
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

I do this all the time... it works perfectly... you can tell when you start driving after the reset that it shifts differently. You are not going to hurt anything by trying it. Guaranteed... I have asked my dealer about it and they said it's fine to do when I feel my tranny not doing what its supposed to do.

It is constantly relearning... scenario:
I am driving along at 40mph and need to pass someone... I floor it, utilizing the kickdown, and I am off with force. Next time I step on it even a little, say within a couple minutes, it is MUCH more responsive than normal and flys... as if it's all fired up and ready to race.
If I don't get on it anymore and just drive at 40mph again, it will recognize that I am not in need of that power anymore and adapt back to the leisurely drive mode.
It is really a wonder to experience... it's fun to show people what it does.
You could have a glitch or hangup in the computer that a reset would clear up. Or you need to have your fluid flushed.

Regardless of where it is in the learning process, putting the pedal to the floor should ALWAYS trigger an immediate downshift. If it thinks you are in "Grandpa" mode, it might not downshift for a moderate increase in throttle, but it should always kickdown under 100% throttle. If not, something is wrong with the tranny.
So, How do I know if I reset my tranny comp. I did the whole prosedure, and when I was driving... as I slowed down, it would downshift in short intervals back into first. Is that what its supposed to do when its getting reset?
P.S. What other kinda cool and easy things are there about this car... For example: My A/C controls has an onboard diagnostic thing if you put the A/C on 72* on both sides and the hold the REST button for like five seconds. The Auto button scrolls through the selections... I used to know what selection was for what.
