1996 W210 DTC codes via climate control system

DTC codes. My 1996 E300D gets a "Check engine electronics" after start on the display. I know the process for getting the codes from the climate control system. Is there a master list of codes somewhere and also can I clear the codes via the climate control system diag process?

Climate control system displays only the codes as if "reads only" and you cannot clear the codes from there.

As far as I know, the climate control can't even read that code.

You will need a scanner. There are several lists of codes, some of which are standard across manufacturers (such as P0 codes) and others which are not (such as P1 codes).

Ok, that's what I thought.

He has a code from the IFI computer and can only read them from the OBD-II port under the dash.
