slybydesignw210, his car vibrates only at high speeds. that seems to me more related to proper wheel balance and bad tires, that;s why i thought it;s not the motor mounts. but i;m not a professional mechanic, that's just what i thought.
personally i would do the shocks, lower ball joints and bushings first before doing anything else.
It does do it at surface road speeds as well although not all the time. sometimes its perfect. at idle in drive or not the car is as smooth as can be its only as I start moving when it happens
I'll bet my $50 on the swaybar bushing/brakets/end connectors for the noise. It is easy to check and you may not need to lift the car. Just grab it and shake it to see if it is loose.
bushing/brackets/end connector - I 100% agree with that. In another topic question stemming from this thread, does any suggest updating changing motor mounts in general, thats probly the way I should have expressed my question.
from what i have read in this great website, a lot of people have been satisfied with bilsteins. i think they are around $80-90 a piece. it;s suggested to change the shocks every 10 years/100k miles, but to tell you the truth, i haven't changed mine yet on my 97e320 with 135xxx miles because it rides and handles fine. it will probably be sometime in the near future.
