Hi I have E240 '2000 with xenon white front lamps. yesterday when I turned the lights on, I noticed that the right front light is turning red slowly, any idea what is the problem?
swap the bulbs to the other side. if red shifts to the driver side, then you have
a bulb which is undergoing red dwarf syndrom, ie dying .
if it doesn't and red shift is still on pax side, then you need to focus on the ballast/
ignitor. you can try swapping that, and if the red shifts, this is an indication of a
dying ballast.
oh....if it turns out to be a bulb replacement needed, buy two at the same time,
from same lot# to ensure as much as possible, same tint/color/ºK. if you don't
buy same model/make, color may be a bit off.

I to have a similar situation with my lights. My veh. is a 97 E320 with the Xenon lights. One lights is a bright white , the other has a bit of pink/red in it and according to post may be dying out.
I am not famliar with these Xenon lights as I have never had them on any of my past veh's.Are these bulbs simply a unplug and remove and then replace or is there more to it ? Besides the dealership cab you buy the bulbs at car part stores such as NAPA etc.
