Does anyone know what a yellow warning exclmation point means? It all of the sudden appears on the dashboard right over the letters VDO. Is this a major problem. Is it going to cost me lots of cash to fix it?
This is the ESP light - you may be punching the throttle a bit to hard... Not really a problem is it slippery now around where you live. Otherwise it is an indicator that your electronic stability control is coming on to prevent your car from spinning out or fishtailing. HTH.

I haven't lost my mind - it's backed up on a tape somewhere.
all I can say is that for the first time since i bought the car I took it for a road trip. I was driving down a rural road....two lane highway. We had to pass sometimes two cars in a row. So I was truly punching it. pretty much I drove it 80 all the way and punching it to pass traffic. Off course I was being careful.
When I got to my destination this last Sunday I got the first warning light. i turned off the car and when i turned it back on....the light was gone. But today, it came back again. Could I have damaged something? Today it was dry and hot....so I have not gone over water or anything like that.
Any suggestions as to how to prevent this from happening again? Is it something I need to service it? ARGGG!
See the top button to the left of your gearshift? It is labeled ESP. You are probably inadvertently pushing that button also. next time you get in your car after starting it press that button. The ! light will light up in your cluster. When it's on your traction control is OFF. press it again and it's on. When it flickers it means the car was trying to get traction and you were having slippage while passing those other cars. I don't think you have a problem with the car.
