Gas Mileage!!!

Well since spring is here i decided to put my 18 inch AMG Monoblocks back on and i must say that last year my car was a gas guzzler with the rims on i only got around 180 miles around city driving...well this time around i decided to try a different oil and i put Mobil 1.. 0W-30 my mechanic said it was alright to put it in and since i have this oil and my rims on...my gas mileage improved dramatically...now around city i get at least 240 miles...same style of driving and same crappy traffic..i am very pleased with the oil even though i wanted to put 0W-40 my mechanic didnt have it so i just put this one....also soon i am looking forward to do a tune up which i really need ...Anyways if anyone out there using the same type of oil let me know how it worked out for you and if i should look out for anything...

i cant quite understand how a different oil can give you that much difference.. on a single change... but i guess it's good news!

The 0W-30 is a thinner oil by a little bit. Also a tuneup will really help too since his air filter and plugs might really need changing, depending on how many miles he has.

From my 2001 E320 I get 30 miles per gallon on freeway driving. Local and freeway combined 24.7 miles by onboard computer.

In winter time i had the stock wheels the 16 inch ...but yes i heard this oil is thinner and according to Mobil 1 site it improves gas consumption supposedly...i have about 101k on my car currently but i do indeed need a tune up cause i am still not getting the mileage i am supposed to...

I have a 2001 E320 with 60,000 miles and use Mobil 1 0W40 oil. My mpg are high 20s on the highway and low 20s (sometimes less) in city stop and go traffic.
