Recently acquired a 2000 E-class (E55) that appears pre-wired for phone. I have a coiled cable in the center console with a flat male plug. However, I am missing the phone cradle.
I have been searching for an appropriate cradle (found a few on Ebay) that I will eventually mate with the MB V60 bluetooth adapter. But I want to make sure I acquire the proper cradle.
The question for the forum is thus: Does anyone know the MB part number for the V60 cradle for pre-wired PSE vehicles?
Hi, sorry for n00b question, but my car has the "TIMEPORT" cradle (the flat & wide one). 2001 E55.
I have a Bluetooth Samsung A900 (sprint) phone now, so how do I make my car BT enabled? I need to buy a new "PSE" (What is this, where can i buy it, and how much?) and a new cradle? is that it? is the install DIY-able?
sorry for many questions..

My '01 wagon had the timeport cradle cut out of it when I acquired it.
V60 cradle plugs right in, and dealer installed new PSE--box of electronics in the trunk--and, I think programmed it to the DB2 chain.
Now can transfer same V60 phone between the W211 and the S210.
AFAIK, the bluetooth "puck" is only made to fit the V60 cradle and then you find a bluetooth phone compatible with Mercedes systems.
Personally, I can't see the advantage to Bluetooth, as you lose connection to the car's cell antenna and lose the ability to recharge from the car connection. I suppose some Bluetooth phones may have more features than a V60, but plugging the latter into the cradle is really simple, and again, having the phone in one's pocket seems to present more disadvantages than advantages.
Just to touch all bases: Mercedes phone integration assumes presence of OE Mercedes radio.
oh, i thought V60 is a really old, outdated phone. which carrier still sells V60? i know sprint doesnt.. everyone's got treos, blackberrys blackjack and iphone!!
The coiled cable menas nothing, you need the backup electronics located in the trunk, especially a autosense PSE $600 then go to blue tooth a Razor cradle is around $300. The 00, 01 Would have used a Star-Tac or Timeport which were analog http://www.wireless4mb.com/
