Exclamation Front Fog Light, Lits Problem ----Wired

I search around on the forum and could not find any answer to my problem.

On my 97 e420 only one of my front fog lights works. I have checked the buld ( switched) and also tested them and they both are ok.

what is wired is that the driver side works all the time but the passenger side does not work expect when it's humid, or when its raining. At least when it's humid it works 50% of the time. When dry/ sunny weather--- never works.
I know this is wired but that's what I have observed. and I think its very strange.

I have checked the wires by the bulb and there is no voltage there. while there is voltage on the drivers side.

The fuse is ok aslo.

On forums I read somewere that there is a relay by the battery!?!?! That might need to be dried.

Any idea, any help.

Will be greatly appreciated .

no power at the light....fuse okay

hmmm, headlight switch? jiggle, clean contacts, disassemble....

Step 1

search for headlight switch anomalies on the various forums

but i hope it's easier such as the relay or nearby connections. check schematic
for any inline type fuses just upstream of the light.

Thanks for your quick reply. That was a good link but no help for this issue. I wonder if it is the switch that turns them on or a relay somewhere.

My 2000 e320 had the same problem....it was my passenger side fog light that intermittantly worked, along with both of my side marker lights...

i noticed that they NEVER worked after i went through a high pressure car wash....weird

but i had just gotten my entire passenger side fog light assembly replaced, so i brought the car to the dealership and they simply put in new bulbs...and i haven't had a single problem since (it's been a little over a month now...)

There is no power to the bulb most of the time. And I have tested both bulbs.
Plus mine might work when it's humid.

Thanks for your reply ,
i will see what I can do.

Problem Fixed

Thanks for your replies.
The problem was the contacts right by the housing. See pictures.
Clean them.
