2002 E320 Sun Visor Broken Cover

Getting around to repairing the little stuff on recent purchase ... driver side visor cover was popping off. The right side pin that holds it into the mirror assembly is broken off (I gotta say the pin material looks thin and prone to this - unacceptable in this kind of car, but ...).

There are two metal friction clips, left and right, and a slot for what I guess is an alignment tab to keep the middle of the cover from popping out.

What I can't tell if where the switch for the light is - does the tab push a switch inside or is the switch somehow connected to either the right or left side friction clips?

I carefully flexed the edges of the mirror assembly, but was not apparent it would either pop out of release easily ... anyone done this dance before? Replacement cover or mirror assembly available from aftermarket house, part numbers for the cover or mirror assembly?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Both broke on mine too. I've got quotation from dealer for the complete sun visor for 74.00 a piece. Sounds reasonable to me. I did not try to fix them since they're kind of flimsy.

Part Nos. I've got are 210-810-23-10-7D84, 210-810-24-10-7D84.

I believe the last four being for the color code.

Hope it helps.

There is another recent thread on here in which a guy is asking how to replace the light bulb in one of his. You guys ought to compare notes.
