1996-97 were the interesting years for Benz, it still had the heart of W124, wrapped in a W210 body.
Long live M104 and M119.

it doesn't surprise me at all. my dad bought a 1982 240D with 155000km in 1994, he drove it for a few years, then i kept it until i came to usa, and gave it back to him. last summer when i was there the car was running fine and it had a little over 500000km. also my 1991 190D had about 370000km when i sold it a few years back. but the parts and labor are very cheap there.

The in-line 6 in my 96 320e has been trouble free except for replacing a noisy idler pulley. Over 200.000 on it now.

128k miles on mine. Catalytic converter/lower ball joints and maintenance items are the only thing that has been done to it. My wifes 92 300TE has 186k on it with the only failure being a headgasket at 173k.
