Thanks for helping me make a decision TO BUY a Benz
Hello All!
I'm new to this forum as the proud owner (since December) of a 2001 E430 Sport in brilliant silver over anthracite leather, 83,000 miles, stock, in pretty stunning condition save for 1 door ding.
I was a teenager when this car was released in the US. My father at that time handled the advertising and marketing for a large dealer chain here in Tampa, Florida, and planned the unveiling gala for this model. I remember the excitement when the sheet came off and everybody saw the W210 for the first time. I think this model truly revolutionized Mercedes and its public perception, and solidified my love for the E-class.
Truthfully, I was looking at BMW 7s of the same vintage when I came upon this car, and I have no regrets whatsoever. As compared to the Bimmer, this car is absolutely timeless. What an awesome car to own and drive! The forum confirmed my perception that this is a pretty complicated and sometimes finicky machine, but that the benefits FAR outweigh the negative aspects.
Thanks to all of you for such an awesome resource for all Mercedes owners and enthusiasts.
You're in Tampa, I'm sure you have lots of good PDR guys, you can get the door ding fixed for probably $100 or less, they do amazing work.
Anyway, build a gallery, post some pics, etc...:
