I can't put gas in this car without it cutting off everytime I start pumping gas. I have to squeeze the gas pump like a millimeter(approx.) and it will let me put gas. It takes me over 15 minutes to put about 10 gallons in. Anyone know why its doing that? It is at any gas station. You know how it does when youre filling up your car and you cant get anymore gas in it, the pump will automatically shut off, that is exactly what it is doing. IT IS GAS NOT DIESEL =) and my check engine light is not on =)! HELP!!

Has it done this since you first bought it, or did it just start happening? Either way, it sounds like there is some restriction that is causing the back-pressure to shut off the pump. Please let us know if you figure it out.
Good Luck!

Mine is also a pain in the ass, but not as bad as yours. I get to the first click, which is always more than a gallon short, but can't put more in without going through a 5-minute clickety click ritual.
That has happened to me before also, but I think it was just a bad pump; And sometimes if you don't put the nozzle in deep enough it will cut off/keep clicking. Next time you fill up, take notice how far you have the nozzle in your tank, that may be the cause... just my 0.02.
Ty joe55. Yes I finally made some kind of progress last night. I went to a chevron gas station, it clicked a few times but I kept insisting until it stayed pumping gas. It made a weird noise when it would stay though. It then stopped and went back to the normal clicking. I messed with it again and it is just a big pain to pump gas. I think once I put gas enough times I will get the trick to it. It is very annoying though. I put regular gas in it every time I hope I dont mess something up in it. Maybe I'm wrong big time but I always put regular gas in all my cars. This is a 2000 model I bought from my job (I sell cars for GM) and I havent had it but a week or 2. Thanx for the replies guys I really appreciate it and I am so glad I found this website. KEEP ON BENZING!!!
why are you putting regular gas when you are supposed to put premium. not only you get better gas mileage with premium, but that's what kind of gasoline your car was designed to run. i might be wrong, but you might ruin your engine after a while. something might gum up.

Tirona is correct, use at least 91 octane and I think it is best to use only name brand gas. I happen to like Chevron/Texaco, but BP/Amoco, Shell, Exxon etc. should also be fine.
