Diesel fuel leak

I have an issue with my wifes OM606 engined estate which has been well covered before - the air in fuel/not starting when parked up hill problem. I was about to attend to all the o rings/pipes etc etc but when I looked carefully I found it was leaking fuel (when running) from the top of the injector pump around outlets 1 and 2. Is this a common problem and is there an easy fix? Any help appreciated before I dive in! Thanks, Jon.

leaks from injector pumps are common. what you are seeing is fuel leaking from the delivery valves which are on top of the pump. if I remember correctly, to fix the leak you remove the valves and replace the copper washers. either that or replace the valves assuming they come with new washers.

There is a specific torquing procedure for those delivery valves. I can't quite remember what it is but you'd do well to bear it in mind. IIRC its 35nM, loosen off, then retighten - something like that.

I had the same problem. Replaced the o-rings and copper seat using a 32 point socket that I had to order from a specialty tool place. It was an easy fix. BUT now for me I just noticed another fuel smell this evening. Pulled the valve cover off and noticed at least three of the injector holes filled to the brim with diesel. I already replaced the fuel return lines so i dont know. Anybody have a similar problem and have the remedy. Is there a seal around the injectors or something.? Any help would be great.
