Question Wider rear tires?

I would like to go for a more aggressive look with out changing the look that I have. I would like to install wider rear tires on my stock 17" Sport wheels. Has anyone properly staggerd the wheel sizes on their E?

You didn't ask me, but I'd say the increased rubber on the road creates more drag or friction.

if you're asking why it results in lower MPG, it would be along the lines of higher
coefficient of friction. more rubber on the road = more traction = more friction.
depending on the rubber, the causal effect might be negligible to easily apparent.

if you're asking how do I work with lower MPG....well, hmmm....i drive more carefully
and pay more at the pump. but i'm not giving up the rims. i kinda like them.....
that is, until i get rich and can afford forged/custom wheels.

Thumbs up

Well,

I drive a 430 not a 320 so I already pay more for extra power that I don't use very often. I would be willing to pay more for the look that I could use all of the time. Thanks for the help!

yeah gas mileage sucks with wider tires...i know myself i have 9 inches in the rear and if i push it sometimes i kill quarter tank easily...but its a lot of fun cause the handling is awsome...just its not fun when going to gas station often

255 will fit on the stock rim? What was the side wall size?
