Need HELP !!! My CD changer just died on me and went to dealer....
they are asking for $1200. I can't use after market cd-changer like Sony,
Pionner, Alpine etc because of Fiber optical connection. So is there any other better solution than install the original CD changer ??? and if I go for the after marketproducts, I have to install a new CD deck....... which they dont look classis at all for a Benz. I really dont want to spent $1200 for a new cd-changer..... any other solutions ??
It shows NO MAGAZIN...... and when I removed the CD-dock, inside the changer
makes a lot of noise like cracking........It just cant read the cd and make the cracking noise for about 5 sec. any comments ?
mmmm, yeah.....that sounds much worst than i thought, or have encountered.
you may want to try contacting La Jolla or some such...who have specialty with
these changers, too...on the chance they think they can repair.
but as mentioned above, you can find these on Ebay for about $200 average
lajollaaudiorepair dot com (no affiliation with them. just see them active at
Mercedesshop forums)
Thanx so much, I will contact them tomorrow to quote. I live in Orange county.... not that far..... if the price is fair ... I will go for it ! Thanx for your help !

Mine was not broken, my car just did not come with one. I bought a used one on eBay for about $200 and a mounting kit from my dealer for around $100. That dealer installed everything for no charge.
Good Luck!
