you can get them for FREE from the dealer if you are still under warranty...
i just got one a couple weeks ago ~ my service consultant ordered my another key - just noted that my old key "wasn't functioning properly"

Well, you said it, yours were not working properly and still under warranty. I think most who ordered or want to order bought the car used and they came with only ose key.

Whatever price they were selling them for, is their isuue and maybe they loaded the wrong price into the system. The current price at MB without discount is slightly under $200, which is less than the old style. Why would you bombard them with e-mails, it is kind of flawed thinking. It shows that you have never had any pricing experience in the business world. Maybe they will get out of the key business if they dont find it profitable.
Why not bombard MB and threaten never to buy another one of their cars if they dont get their quality up, charge less for replacement parts, and get them to lower hourly rates!
....same principles applies....
perhaps we need to sell the idea of quantity pricing since it seems many is in need for a spare / replacement keys

even still, i had said IF UNDER WARRANTY....you can simply exchange the one you have for the chrome one...
mine was NOT broken, the service guy just wrote up the work order that way...
so if anyone wants to go that route, i figured i would put this little tid-bit out there...
