tires not balanced?
keep in mind, 18s are 10x more sensitive & ride rougher than 16s... goodluck

My original rims were 17's. i just bought some 18 amg monoblocks(used). but rims are in great conditions. i bought it off a friend, and i bought brand new tires. i got it mounted and balanced also. it's fine driving on normal roads, but when i take it on the highway, go about 70mph, i can feel it shaking. what do you think it is?

Make sure the wheels ad tires are balanced correctly.
Check the tires rotation direction if the tires sre directional.

take the car to a competent tire shop using hunter gsp9700, and have the tires dynamic roadforce balanced.

Try balancing the wheels using the bolt holes, not the centre hole.

ProV is correct: get them Road Force balanced. As you move to larger yet lower profile tires the balance is absolutely critical and R/F is the best technology we have for that.

Take care and enjoy the smoother ride,
Greg

I had similar issue, it use to vibrate 70~110mph and will be okay after & before that speed. All I had to do is go the local tyre shop for finish balancing or road force balancing.

I'm attaching the pix when I went for the job.

I've read that the torque on the lug nuts can be pretty critical too. Also, are you sure you have the correct bolts? Those are apparently wheel-specific, as opposed to car specific.

You might also try posting this on the Tire Rack's Tire, Wheel, Brake & Suspension forum too; it's under the Technical Forum sub-heading.
