Good Indy in the S.F. Bay Area??

Can anyone rec a good indy mechanic in the San Francisco Bay Area? I live in Walnut Creek (near Oakland). Any recs would be appreciated.

Hi, DP.

I don't know any on your side of the bridge, but if you're willing to travel to San Mateo, Holland Car Care is a good indie (on Claremont, the number is 650-344-8815).

I know a good transmission shop a little further up the peninsula as well, it's at least close to BART.

kajtek1 may well know one over in your neck of the woods, he's over on your side of the bay, too.

Me? Knowing good service?
I work on my own cars
I used Stead in WC for guarantee service and they stole my portable CD player few years ago (when they have been quite expensive). They also quoted me $200 for light bulb replacement in the cluster.
There is a member here handle "The Workshop MB" who is mobile service in Oakland. Another forum member used him and posted very good opinion.
