what year did the W210 first come with this option? was it standard on any model or come with any packages?
im shopping for a W210 right now. i'm looking at a 2000 E320 4matic with 93k miles. it seems to have most of the options.(heated seats, teleaid, xenon with washers, command, cd changer) would you think it has it?
thanks,
devon

I have some of the original sales literature for the full line of the 2001 E-class. The name they used for those is "Rain-sensing automatic intermittant windshield wiper". That was only standard on the E55, but was included as part of Package E2 on the E320. This package also included the 8-speaker Bose sound system (Standard on E430 models) and power tinted glass sunroof.

You're welcome! It's a nice feature, but I think mine is too sensitive (wipes a little too often in my opinion). I asked the dealer if the sensitivity was adjustable, and the service writer did not know.

My '01 has it, but IMHO it's not that great. I have to park outside and if the car's been sitting out in the rain, the sensor can't really figure out how much rain there actually is on the windshield.
