I think I remember reading somewhere that MB would repair rust on certain models and certain years. Does anyone know if this is true, and what are the restrictions.
Thanks, donald
Restrictions are that you are the original owner and have had all service performed by dealer. W210
Hi,
I live in Denmark. I was the third owner of this car and when I was made aware of these problems I took it to the nearest MB. dealer. They fixed all of it and I did not pay anything. Car is a model 2000 and came with a 30 year rust-waranty. All service/repair done by MB.

you are lucky, we get 5yr rust warranty in the USA. some (very few) MB dealers here do rust repairs on goodwill though. obviously not my dealer!

I asked MB of America about rust issue. They answered me that they will not fix it. My car is out of warranty now, but she is not so old for such of problems as rust.
The only rust on mine has been the spring perch [repaired by Mercedes N/C], the fuel line tubing and around the trunk keyhole. Someone mentioned on another thread that the trunk rust was covered by a TSB. Next time i'm in Toronto i'll check on this. 1996 with over 200,000 kms.
Is rust a common issue on this model? I know that it always has a great deal to do with where one lives and drives the car, but it sounds as though MB has had to fix rust that was their "fault".
