What can black bird's eye maple trim be purchased for in U.S. dollars please? I've always admired that in the AMGs, and I think it would look better with my ash interior than the burl walnut does.

My birds eye maple trim came as standard - in Avantgarde model (Australia). Don't know how MB configured the models in the US.
As for price I have absolutely no idea but I'm sure Mark will know. I think some Merc owners even swap as others prefer the walnut trim. It's all a matter of individual taste isn't it? Good luck with your search.

G'Day mate!
I think that is only standard in the bound-for-US AMGs here, or at least it used to be. We can get poplar as an alternative to walnut in certain models but they do not use the term Avantgarde here at all. But we have standard and sports editions so there are similarities in the packages, just different words for them.
I have Black Birds eye and I love it! Makes a HUGE difference. My other Benz's had the regular Burls Maple. My car has Ash leather inside and it is Quartz Metallic Silver so it looks really nice with the Black Birds eye trim. I have the Sports Edition 2002 E320
