Hello every1! Few months ago I bought 1997. E 420 with 90K miles, it worked perfevt until few days ago when "CHECK ENGINE, CHECK ELECTRONICS" message came on. I 've heard that I am not going to be able to pass smog check and renew license plate with this malfunction.
What should I do???

Get the code reader. Free rental at Autozone, or pay about $80 at the shop.
Electronics code very likely will be pedal switch, but that is wild guess without actually reading the code.

the older e classes all say check engine, check electronics. I just had one for a random misfire. so the code may be for anything engine related. best way is to have it read.
