Part # needed for rear window roller blinds
Hello friends,
These blinds are shown as an option in the official literature for the 2001 W210 E320/430/55. I am trying to order sone through my dealer but he cannot find them on his system. It has been 3-4 working days, and he said MBUSA has not yet returned his phone call asking about them.
He told me the correct MB part number would help him. Does anyone know a source where I can find that, or does anyone happen to have the number?
Thanks in advance,
Musikmann

Yes they are acarter53. If the parts guy finds them, I'll post all the relevant info right here. I think they will probably help to protect the rear seat leather. The tops of my rear seats and the backs of the headrests are already getting stiff, and probably due to the UV rays and heat.

Update: roller blinds
I spoke with a technical support guy at MBUSA (800-FOR-MERC) and he told me these were no longer available. As far as I know, my parts guy is still waiting to hear something from them.
I emailed MBenzNL and a woman wrote back asking for more specifics. I wrote her back, answering her questions, and I have not heard anything since, but it's been less than 48 hours.

if you condition the leather every once in a while, it will go a long way toward preserving it. not saying roller blind won't help, of course they will, but if you feel the leather is stiffening up and getting ready to crinkle/crack, throw some mother's leather conditioner on it every couple of weeks, it works great. i'm in mass., you're in WV; big difference in heat intensity at most times of year i know, but it should still help quite a bit.

by the way, this is probably going to be a no-no, but does anyone have the power rear window shade on their car? i had that option on my E430 that was totaled last month...and i loved having it, wondering if this can be installed or if it's just a factory option? of cousre it would involve cutting so i wouldn't be surprised if it's factory-option only..

Hi fju2112,
So far, I have only had the dealer do a full detail that included whatever they do for the leather. So, other than wash it, that's it. I think Mother's makes good products too, and I'll probably try some of that.
I have the power rear-window shunshade, and I love that! I leave it up 95% of the time mostly because of the leather issue.
Regarding your question, I asked my service manager about that (I was considering buying an E430 that did not have one at the time). He told me I did not want them to install one. I can't remember the exact details, but it's apparently a pretty big job

I know these are not standard part numbers, but that's what's on the dealer's receipt.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Thank you for these numbers G-AMG. I just called my dealer and the guy in parts said these numbers would not come up. Like you said "these are not standard part numbers" but I thought I would try anyway.
