Hey other than MB dealer, can someone tell me where I may be able to find the bulb for the running day lamps? Thanks
It's an H6 bulb.
It's kind of a pain in the butt to find. I tried 5 differed auto parts stores and none had it in stock. I had the CarQuest in my neighborhood order me one. It took 1 business day to show up. Paid less than $5 (Maybe $1.50...can't remember).
I feel your pain. The only local source was the benz dealer, luckily they didn't overcharge too terribly much for it.
I went to Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts and ordered at least one of every bulb for my car. Most of them were cheap enough I ordered two or three. Every bulb in it is odd, whether it's the H6W City lights (6 watt halogen, Euro arcs on the pins) or the tail lights (oblong connections, Euro arcs on the pins). With a couple of oil filters and a wiper blade refill it was easy to hit $50 and free shipping, and now I always have a spare bulb.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

wow, OEM wiper blade for $5...not bad!
greg, think you can help me find the proper light for my rear foglamp? there are a couple of choices. I'm pretty sure mine has a brass base and will check it out tomorrow but want to be 100% before ordering.

Yep, I do like autohaus' pricing. GermanStar is pretty good as well and autopartswarehouse might get you parts quicker since they're based back east. In any event, the "which bulb is right" is part of the problem: in some cases there is more than one choice. The only way to be sure when that's the case is to pull the one out you're trying to replace and then you're sure. I love that MBZ likes to do things this way.
they have them on ebay for like 20 bucks or so....they are supposed to be clear white color and not as the dull yellow...but also if u search the forum u can get the LED lights installed instead of the dull yellow lights and improve the appearance of the car....if u search for led lights installation...u will get all the info and set up...good luck

kind of off-topic but here's what i found on the fog lamp:
mine (not working): #1156 Philips brass-base. 12v/32cp, made in France
autohausaz: #1156 Sylvania, brass base. 12v/24W.
I'm no expert with electronics...think the Sylvania will work? Seems it would but my bulb doesn't list the wattage, and Sylvania's doesn't list the cp number.

Creative - LED lights on the FRONT? are you referring to the running day lamps e320nbama was talking about? I'd love to see a picture of these on the car and get them for mine!
I went from having Xenon's on my last e-class to now not having them. I don't really miss them all that much but it would be nice to have a lighter/brighter bulb. Without getting into replacing any electronic parts, are there whiter bulbs (whiter than OEM) out there for the front halogen headlamps that will work well?

Hey, FJ.
1156 you can get at any auto parts store, it's a standard single-filament bulb often used for brake and reverse lights dating from when domestics still had round bases.
Re: LEDs, they're okay for city lights, etc. but for things like a fog light stay incandescent. You also need resistors with LEDs to prevent malfunction warnings.
