97 E320 Transmission Problem

I have searched alot of pages here about trans problems and figured to post this and see if I can get to the bottom of the problem.

The problem seems to happen at 2 different times

One when coming to a stop but not fully stopping then I press on the gas lightly like to just get going and I hear a BUMP in the rear like it maybe in between 1st and 2nd gear.If I come to a full stop which would let the trans fully downshift into 1st and then start it is OK.

Two if I am going at normal speed and lets say have to stop quick all the way down to full stop feels like when the trans is downshifting and getting to the area of what should be 1st-2nd I get a big Bump like it wants to push forward

If I put the car into S mode it doesnt seem to happen or at least I havent noticed it in the limited time I tested it that way. I always have been driving in W mode since I got the car about 2-3 yrs ago

Took it to a local Trans Repair place not Mercedes just to see what they would say plus they give a free outer inspection which includes checking fluid which they said they couldnt because its a closed system. They also said they put it on a computer while they drove it to see if it errored or anything about sensors and also to recreate the problem.
Was told they did hear and feel the problem but without dropping it could not tell what was causing it.
It would be 860.00 just to drop it and look and if its only soft parts it would be 2100 plus 350 for converter

Any ideas like bands slipping or could it be out of sync or fluid or sensors?
If the problem is soft parts what would mercedes most likely charge for this?

Sorry for so long a post but I hope I gave enough info to get a good answer

Thanks Mike

Update

Talked to MB they said it is normal. Trans sees speed going down and then back up quickly and electronics are trying to catch-up They said since trans is older I will see this more then when newer.
