E 240 1999 Dash knobs?

Hi

It’s a dump question but as my car is Japanese specification so I never got the user manual in English. Can anyone tell me the functions of these (+ & -) knobs. The picture is attached. I understand the “R” knob is to reset the tachometer.

Well these knobs are located near the driver side (Left hand drive) AC vent and on the edge of the Dash.

the - and + adjust the brightness of the dash lights at night. i think they do something else as well but i dont know

Yes, the plus and minus buttons are for brightening the display.

The button beneath those two, "R" on the european/american versions, is the reset button. It is used to reset your Tripometer and "After Reset" and "After Start" counters.
