Well, the trans in my 300E just gave out at 150K. It's one of those electronic trans that MB says "never needs the fluid replaced" so, of course, I followed the advice of the Service Manager and just kept my eye on the level. Started making a "thud" when shifting up and down between 2-3rd gears. Has anyone else had this problem? I guess I should feel glad that it went 150K, right??? I didn't go the route of a new trans the stealership wanted to install, but instead had an indy rebuid for about 1/2 of the cost. So far, so good. Thoughts? Also, how often do you think the cabin filters should be replaced??
