Yesterday morning as I turned my key I heard a wierd noise, like those of a shaver or electric advertisement neon lights, coming from the small vent holes on the interior cabin lights unit above the rear view mirror. The noise will go away after a couple of second after you turn the ignition off (the same time you heard a relay click under the dash). The sound is like electric high pitch buzzing / ratling.
Anybody experience this before? Is it something that I should be worry of?
It is very annoying and makes me dizzy.
Hope somebody could tell me how to fix this
Thanks
By "cloric feeler," Mark means that your cabin air temperature sensor for your climate control is in there. There is a small fan that pushes air across the sensor so that the reading is an accurate of the inside temp. That fan is making the noise.
The fan may just be dirty. You can remove it and blow it out with compressed air. If that doesn't help, a new one is less than $100 online.
You take the lamp assembly loose to service this fan and sensor. Once you remove the lenses, you'll see some small metal clips holding the assembly to the roof. With this loose, disconnect the cable connected to the sensor and twist it to remove. You press straight down and click it into place to install.
Um, no. WD-40 is basically kerosene, it will deteriorate all that plastic and the fumes will permeate everything, so you'll smell it for the rest of the car's life.

Sorry for the late posting. I tried to blow compressed air through the holes but no luck. tried to open the clips but two of them got broken right away, so I stopped and try to live with it. Very sad to see MB's plastic quality. here crack, there crack everywhere cracks....
Without side effect??? so why they have that little fan sucking air inside then?? to read the ambience temp quicker??
Anyway, you might be right, unhooking the wires for the fan may not interfere with the temp sensor itself.
I'll try, thanks for the hint
