The metal plate used on the rear door sill (probably on front doors too) came loose and in investigating I found that two of the three, small, plastic fasterners that are like pop-rivets had broken. These fit into a slide on the bottom of the metal plate and then pop into the hole in the lower door opening which then locks the plate into place.
I've never seen this same type of plastic fastener but I'm sure if I went to the dealer they would sell me some. But, my kids were really counting on me getting them something for Christmas this year and I don't think I can afford to do both. (of course I'm being a little facetious here) So, does anyone know where these can be found online? I'm thinking that would probably be the least expensive source.
If the sill "plate" (plastic) is not broken, and the "slot" rail underneath is intact, then all you need are new "male" plastic fasteners. You just slide them down the rail slot, and plug into the female portions in the door frame.
As I recall, I paid 50 cents each for the 3. Hopefully this will save you enough that you can still be "Santa!"
Here's the EPC as an attachment.
It is part number "77"
