Plastic parts

I don't understand, may be the wheather in SoCal is too hot for my 97 E420 many of the plastic parts cracked. Or is it MBz quality plastics or what??
One that annoyed me very much is the thin plastic that wrapped the seat belt on the front seats that attached to the seat it self. It was placed in a silly way so that you will partly seat on them everytime you get in the car and it was so thin that it breaks almost on any MB 210 I've seen
Don't they learn??
