Thanks. I'll change the fuel filter (I have it) and order the CPS.

Whereis my fuel filter

AlldataDYI.com says about the location: "Frame floor ahead of rear suspension in fuel pump assembly or similarly located on the left of frame floor in front of rear suspension, suspended separately on rubber rings.".

I removed the protective panel on the rear passenger side, in front of the rear suspension but cannot find the fuel filter as the pictures show. It is a 1996 E320.

It is quite elusive for a part as big as Muhamad Ali's fist

I was jacking up the wrong side, how stupid! , just checked: Left = Driver side and Right = Passenger side. )

So the tank is on the right side and the filter on left side, correct?
2 hours wasted

Left side is one with letter "L" on the tail light. There are countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road so driver/passenger is not best use.

Fuel tank sits upright behind rear seat.
