Noobie question 2000 E430 wheels on a 97 e320

Hello guys,
I am new to the board and just bought a 97 e320 from an older gentleman from Florida. Car was exceptionally clean and well maintained so we couldn’t pass up the great deal.

Anyhow, I am looking to update the rims, I have a lead on a set of 2000 E430 rims, 17x7.5 Offset is 37mm with 235/45/17 tires. I have done some searching on the forum and all numbers say yes, but before I pull the trigger, I need a definite yes from experienced MB owners who may have done this swap. I am trying to avoid having to drive out a few hours to pick em up and then finding out they don’t fit.

Thanks
Rey

They fit unless you have a wagon.

Talking fit get them

Hello,

I have a 1997 E320 and purchased 2001 sport e430 rims. They fit perfect. Stock tire size is 235/45r17. I notice my car handles better and my co workers noticed my car over the ugly 16s we normally have. I got my setup for $400 with tires.

hope this info helps in your decision.

17x7.5 offset 37 with 235/45/17 tyres best fit for W210, exactly same diameter of original 215/55/16 both 643 mm. go ahead and enjoy.

good luck

if those are the old lug nuts, the ball seat diameter is too small for the new rims.

Thanks guys,

And yes they are the original lug nuts from the 97, they are a bit longer, but if the "ball seat diameter is too small for the new rims" please enlighten because if that is the case, then I need to take care of it this afternoon.

Red face 2001 sport e430 rims

Hello guys,

I have a 1997 e320 with 2001 sport e430 rims. 17 inchers with 235/45r17 tires.

Anyways the owner of the 2001 sport gave me his lugs and when I compared them to my stock lugs they were same length and had the same shape at the end.

I am not saying that my rims are the same, but I have not had a problem with my wheel setup and the lugs seated my wheels fine.

This is just my personal experience.
