Aftermarket Taillights Please - Benzworld.org

Ok guys I am on this update fix on my E class. I want 2000+ taillights smoked top or clear. Does anyone have a suggestion to where i can buy good quality taillights? I do not want to inherit a taillight malfunction from my "upgrade."

Any suggestions/input greatly appreciated.

Hello Ikchris,

I try to go on the online catalog and it states unable to make connection. This is after I pick english. I tried german and spainsh with same result. Do you have another place to order the taillights?

I would suggest E55 tail lights (for smoked) and 2000 E320 (for clear). Recognizing
that even MB has had tail light problems periodically. Apparently their trace (used
instead of primative wiring) leading to the bulb sockets may not be reliable and
have reportedly separated . Easily fixed with a soldering gun.

Compare this with aftermarket LED or incandescent bulb tail lights which also have
their share of problems resulting in 'bulb malfunction' problems (LED) or QC issues
with the Taiwan type globe/bulb units.

Street market for E55s or E320 00+ are steeper than Taiwan and can run upwards
of $300 new. Cheaper if used, natch. I managed to get used E55 off the board
for $160, which were in great shape.

Best is to post 'want' on the W210 or E211 board for folks who've upgraded to LED
and may have their older MB units sitting around.

Also, be clear of high probability that you'll have to do the Dremel trick to the back
of the reflector before it will fit. Time involved is approx 15-30 mins, then it'll drop
right in.

Hello there. I ordered off ebay replacement 200+ rear tail lights, not original MB but I must say the fit and finish is amazing - you absolutely cannot tell the difference.

I am glad to hear you found some ebay units that have good fit and finish. Can you let me know who you bought from??? I would like to purchase taillights also.
